Cheque mates: Greystones Cancer Support receives €500 boost from Aldi
Greystones Cancer Support received a welcome boost to its coffers in time for Christmas after it got a cheque for €500 to became the latest charity to benefit from Aldi’s Community Grants programme recently.
The €500 grant was presented to Anne Ivory, Mary O’Neill, Kathleen Kelleher and Gileen Morris of Greystones Cancer Support by Katarzyna Pakula, Aldi Greystones’ ‘Charity Champion’.
Aldi’s Community Grants programme helps fund local charities and organisations that contribute vital work and services in their local communities.
Each local charity supported is chosen by Aldi employees, enabling them to help the local good causes they are passionate about.
The programme has contributed to over 340 different local projects to date, donating over €250,000 since 2016.
“Our store team are proud to have chosen Greystones Cancer Support for our Community Grants donation. Providing people affected by cancer with transport to hospitals, social outings, support and guidance makes a huge difference,” Tomas Lisauskas, Aldi Greystones Store Manager said.
“Being part of and investing in local communities is something that Aldi is committed to and we are delighted to be able to make this contribution.”
