County Wicklow residents left without water for hours after main burst

Some county Wicklow residents forced to stay at home due to the Covid-19 restrictions had to make do without water for several hours yesterday after a water main burst.

The water outage impacted on residents in Kindlestown Heights, Kenmare Heights, Bellevue Heights and surrounding areas in Greystones and Delgany.

Irish Water and Wicklow County Council teams worked to repair the burst main, and normal service had resumed by yesterday evening.

They said in a statement: “Irish Water and Wicklow County Council understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore normal supply to impacted customers. Irish Water and Wicklow County Council regret any inconvenience caused.”
