Wicklow waste row back in court as discussions ‘intensify’ over €1.5m offer
The row over a Wicklow waste disposal company was back before the High Court yesterday as discussions ‘intensified’ over a €1.5m offer from ex-rugby star Shane Byrne.
An application by Oxigen Environmental to have a provisional liquidator appointed to the company in which Mr Byrne and his brother William are involved – AWD Waste Solutions Ltd — was adjourned, the Irish Times reports.
The court was told that the petition application is unlikely to proceed and that no other creditor of AWD, including Revenue, is likely to be taking over the petition.
Mr Justice Michael Quinn adjourned the proceedings to next week.
