Ceremonies to be held throughout Wicklow in memory of Detective Garda Colm Horkan

A number of ceremonies will take place tomorrow across Wicklow in memory of Detective Garda Colm Horkan.

“At 12 noon, June 21, Gardaí at stations around the county and country will observe a one-minute silence for our deceased colleague Detective Garda Colm Horkan and we invite members of the public to join us in expressing their condolences,” a post  on Garda Siochana Wicklow Facebook page said.

“Ceremonies to honour the memory of Detective Garda Colm Horkan will be held outside Garda Stations at Bray, Baltinglass, Blessington, Carnew, Greystones, Arklow and Wicklow commencing at 11.55am Sunday, June 21 2020.

“Representatives of all the blue light services will be in attendance. A minutes silence will be held at midday. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

“However we would ask that space in front of the Garda stations would be left for the emergency services to formally parade.

“Many thanks to all the community for the kind messages of sympathy and support that have been received throughout the county.”

Books of Condolence are available for the public in Bray, Baltinglass, Wicklow and Arklow Garda Stations.
