AO-kay: Lidl begins construction of new €12m Bray store on site of former factory
Lidl Ireland have commenced construction at their new site on Boghall Road, Bray, Co Wicklow which will see an investment of €12m into the local area as well as the creation of 25 new jobs.
The derelict site which was formerly occupied by electric motors manufacturing factory, AO Smith before its closure in 2005, will be completely revived with a new state-of-the-art Lidl store equipped with a sustainable ISO 50001 certified Energy Management System which includes electric vehicle charging spaces, the installation of solar panels to generate clean energy from the sun, sensor controlled exterior sun blinds, heat recovery and energy efficient LED lighting to ensure minimal impact on the environment.
The sleek and modern design will also see the store fitted with wider aisles and an enlarged bakery area for an overall enhanced customer experience.
