Bray needs a new full-time fire service – Wicklow TD
Wicklow Sinn Féin public representatives have said that with the massive expansion planned for Bray, now is the time for a full-time fire service.
The call was made ahead of a Sinn Féin motion which will be discussed at the next Bray Municipal District meeting.
The motion calls for an Independent review of the fire service in Bray with a view to making it a full-time service.
Speaking ahead of the motion Deputy John Brady said “As part of the ongoing campaign for a full time fire service in Bray my colleagues Cllr’s Dermot O’Brien and Grace McManus have put forward a motion calling for an Independent review to be carried out on the fire service in Bray, with a view to making it full-time.”
“I have always believed there is a need for a Full-time service in Bray and that is backed up by the unfortunate number of fatalities the community of Bray has experienced due to fires, many of which I believe could have been saved if we had a Full- time service. A lack of funding has always been one of the biggest issues in implementing this service.”
