BREAKING: Bray promenade evacuated as emergency services attend to teenage girl pulled from sea
Bray promenade was evacuated at approximately 6.45pm this evening to allow emergency services attend to a young person who was pulled from the sea.
The girl is believed to be a teenager between the years of 14 or 15 and “was not breathing or conscious” according to a paramedic at the scene, although a witness claimed she had a pulse.
Emergency services were delayed attending to the teenager after initially driving to the harbour area instead of the beach.
They were then unable to gain access to the north of the beach due to locked security bollards and an ambulance was then forced to drive to the south end of the beach near Bray Head and drive back along the promenade.
A large crowd of onlookers began to congregate approximately 250 metres from the scene before members of the the Coast Guard, Gardai and the Civil Defence cleared the promenade of approx 200 people spread along the full length of the prom to allow the ambulance to drive back down to exit.
