BREAKING NEWS: Man charged with assault on mother of his child
The father of Nadine Lott’s daughter has been charged with assaulting the mother-of-one at the weekend.
Daniel Murtagh (32), with an address at Melrose Grove, Clondalkin, appeared before Bray District Court this afternoon in relation to the assault in Arklow on Saturday morning.
The court was told Mr Murtagh replied “sorry” after he was charged by Det Gda Darren Mulhall who said he arrested the accused at 1.40pm for the purpose of charging him under Section 4 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.
Judge David Kennedy refused bail and remanded the accused to Cloverhill.
Solicitor John O’Donovan on behalf of Mr Murtagh made an application for legal aid saying his client was in receipt of social welfare and was of limited means.
Mr Murtagh, who was dressed in a green jumper, blue jeans and tanned shoes and had a number of injuries to his face, will appear before the District Court again on Thursday in relation to the incident.
Nadine remains in a critical condition at St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin where she is being treated for injuries to her head and body.
