Center Parcs-style resort could be coming to Wicklow as Kippure Estate sold – report
Wicklow could be set for a Center Parcs-style resort following the sale of Kippure Estate, the Business Post is reporting.
Quanta Capital, which backed by Californian investment giant Oaktree, has bought the estate in the Wicklow Mountains in what what is believed to be a multi-million euro d eal.
The 300-acre property was sold for an undisclosed sum by the Kyne family, who have been its owners since the 1980s.
County Wicklow was originally on the shortlist as a site for Center Parcs when the leisure giant announced it was coming to Ireland in 2015 but ultimately lost out to County Longford.
A plan for the future use of the venue is now being made and may result in the estate being converted into a Center Parcs-style resort, according to the newspaper.
The estate currently comprises Kippure Lodge and 24 self-catering houses on woods and parkland.
