Cian and mum Sheila raise €1,700 for pal Adam by shaving their heads
A Greystones schoolboy and his mum have raised €1,700 towards treatment for a 12-year-old boy who suffers from a rare blood disorder by shaving their heads.
Cian Fairley, who is also 12, decided to cut off his hair after his best friend Adam Kopec was told he may lose his own hair by undergoing treatment for the condition called aplastic anemia which needs chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
And in a show of solidarity Cian’s mother Sheila decided to follow suit as she was so impressed by her son’s decision.
Barber Chris Carroll of at The Grafton Barber in the town was on hand to do the chopping as well-wishers and staff looked on.
