Cut! Hollywood blockbuster due to start in Wicklow’s Ardmore Studios postponed
A movie starring Hollywood superstars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon which was due to start filming in Wicklow’s Ardmore Studios has been postponed due to Covid-19.
The film, which is called The Last Duel, was due to shoot in the county for between six and eight weeks and was set to employ a crew of several hundred people.
Construction had already begun on the sets in Ardmore Studios while shooting of the actual film had already started on location in France, but that has now finished.
The Last Duel is directed by Ridley Scott of Gladiator and Alien fame, and as well as the two Good Will Hunting stars, it will feature actor Adam Driver who played Kylo Ren in the recent trilogy of Stars Wars.
Filming was due to take place around Dublin, Wicklow, Meath and Tipperary.
Affleck and Damon have written the screenplay and which is set in Medieval France.
