‘Dangerous, illegal and obstructive’ – 100 motorists hit with fines for blocking access to popular Wicklow beach
Gardai issued almost 100 fines to motorists who parked illegally near a popular county Wicklow beach.
Local gardai issued a public appeal to motorists, saying emergency services would not have been able to access the beaches because of the careless attitudes of the vehicle owners.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Almost 100 fixed charge penalties issued in Brittas Bay/Ennereilly area today because of dangerous, illegal and obstructive parking. Emergency services would not have been able to access beaches if needed. Tow wagons will be in place tomorrow as well as fixed charge penalties. Please, if visiting public amenities be conscious of the dangers your parking can create.”
