Farewell Davy! Funeral details of well-known Bray resident announced

The funeral details of Bray and Wicklow resident Davy Walker, who passed away suddenly on June 18, have been released.

Mr Walker was well-known in rugby circles and played for Greystones RFC previously while in latter years he worked and frequented Jim Doyle’s on Bray’s Seafront.

“On behalf of our President and the Club Executive, our sincerest condolences are offered to the many friends of Davy Walker who passed away suddenly,” a statement on Greystones RFC’s Facebook page said.

“We very fondly recall a true servant of the club, whether on the pitch as a player, lending a helping hand in the clubhouse or simply enjoying all that he held dear in Greystones RFC.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”

His death notice read as follows:

Bray, Wicklow

Davy Henry Walker, Bray, Co. Wicklow, June 18th 2020. Suddenly at his home. Past member of Greystones Rugby Club, Greystones, Co. Wicklow.

Will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his close friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Davy will repose at Thomas Murphy and Sons Funeral Home Boghall Road Bray on Wednesday evening July 1st. from 5pm to 6pm and on Thursday July 2nd from 11am with removal at 12 miday to Mount Jerome Crematorium Victorian Chapel for committal service at 1pm.
