Developer applies to Wicklow County Council to build 47 new family homes

A new development of 47 family homes is being planned for a greenfield site close to the centre of a county Wicklow town.

Conor Furey & Associates Ltd have applied to Wicklow County Council for planning permission to build the large new development at Bawnogues in Baltinglass, less than a kilometre from the town centre.

The development, if granted permission would see the construction of 47 family homes comprising of one five-bedroom detached dwelling, four four-bedroom detached houses, 16 three-bedroom semi-detached homes, 12 three-bedroom end-terrace dwellings, 12 two-bedroom mid-terrace houses, and two three-bedroom detached homes.

The plans would see the creation of 94 car spaces on the 2.65 hectare site, as well as a new entrance to the estate from the N81 road, the building of a new internal access road, and all associated site work including a new sewerage line which would run under the River Slaney which runs to the east of the site.

A decision on the plans is expected from the local authority by June 21 and submissions are being accepted from the public up until the end of May.
