Developer seeks to add more homes to major development in county Wicklow town
A developer who had been given permission for a major housing project in a county Wicklow town has gone back to the council looking to add more homes to the development.
Gorteen Way Limited has originally requested permission to build 89 homes on a 10.6 acre site in Richview House, Bellevue Hill, Delgany back in December 2015.
After a much back and forth between Wicklow County Council and the developer’s permission, with a reduced capacity of housing was granted in March 2017.
Now Gorteen Way Limited have returned to the local authority with a proposal to amend the plans to allow them create 10 more homes as part of the development.
It is hoped to change the layout of 36 previously permitted homes to allow the construction of the 10 additional homes. The overall development would then consist of 92 one, two and three storey homes.
These would include five four-bedroom detached houses, 14 four-bed semi-detached homes, 44 three-bed semi-detached dwellings, 28 three-bed terraced dwellings and 1 two-bed terraced dwelling.
To accommodate the new homes and amendments, the alignment of the previously approved internal estate road and public open space would have to be amended accordingly.
The council is expected to make a decision on the amended plans by the beginning of August and submissions are being accepted from the public up until July 16.
