Drama as €40,000 in drugs and cash and stolen jeep found during Garda raid on house in Bray
Drugs worth €31,000, more than €10,000 in cash and a stolen jeep were recovered in raid on a house in Bray yesterday.
A man in his early 30’s was arrested after trying to flee the scene and is being held under under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The drama unfolded on the Boghall Road yesterday after gardai became aware of the presence of a Volkswagen Tourag parked on the road that has previously been reported stolen.
As a result of an intelligence led operation, gardai obtained a warrant to search a house on the road. As gardaí approached the house, they saw a man with a backpack in the hallway of the property.
The man saw the gardai and tried to escape. He made it into the house’s rear garden before being tackled and apprehended by gardai.
Gardai searched the man and his backpack and found €7,000 of cocaine, €3,410 of suspected cannabis in 46 individual deal bags, and €20,540 of suspected Alprazolam and Diazepam tablets. More than €10,000 in cash was also recovered during the operation.
The gardai also recovered the key to the stolen jeep, whose discovery led to the raid.
The man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Bray Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.
