Dramatic rescue operation to save unconcious swimmer from sea at Bray

Two hero gardai dived into the sea at to rescue a swimmer who had become unconscious in the water.

Gardai confirmed the drama unfolded in Bray over the weekend.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Two members from Bray and Greystones Gardaí entered the water at Bray over the weekend and rescued a person who was unconscious in the water.

“Dun Laoghaire lifeboat and Rescue 116 also attended as well as Coast Guard crews, Order of Malta (on duty nearby) along with NAS Paramedics who treated and stretchered the patient to a waiting ambulance.”

The patient was taken to the ICU at St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.

Local gardai confirmed the patient is now making “a good recovery”.
