€375,000 funding for project to ‘enhance’ Newtownmountkennedy town centre

Newtownmountkennedy has received €357,750 in Government funding to help revamp the town centre.

The funding is part of €5.5 million allocated to seven projects across the country under the €1 billion Rural Regeneration and Development Fund. It was announced by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys.

The Newtownmountkennedy project will be led by Wicklow County Council.

In a statement, the minister the project “will develop plans to enhance the public realm in the town centre, with a view to improving the pedestrian experience and creating new focal points within the town centre.”
