EXCLUSIVE: Ben Affleck and Matt Damon to film Hollywood blockbuster in Wicklow’s Ardmore Studios
A movie starring Hollywood superstars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon is to shoot in Wicklow’s Ardmore Studios from late March, WicklowNow.ie can exclusively reveal.
The film, which is titled The Last Duel, will shoot here for between six and eight weeks and will employ a crew of several hundred people.
Construction has begun on the sets in Ardmore Studios while shooting of the actual film has already started on location in France.
And the producers of the film are looking for extras from the county to audition on February 21 for parts.
The Last Duel will be directed by Ridley Scott of Gladiator and Alien fame, and as well as the two Good Will Hunting stars, it will feature actor Adam Driver who played Kylo Ren in the recent trilogy of Stars Wars.
Filming will take place around Dublin, Wicklow, Meath and Tipperary.
Affleck and Damon have written the screenplay and is in Medieval France, the story is an epic tale of betrayal and justice.
“We will be looking to directly employlots of Film Extras for huge crowd scenes in the coming months,” a staem,ent said.
“We are holding an Extras Open Casting day next week in Dublin City Centre and, we are trying to put out as much information as possible to attract interested people to apply to take part as an extra. It is paid work and the open casting will be open to adults.
