Funeral details of well-known Wicklow musician and devout Leeds United fan announced
The funeral details of a well-known Wicklow musician and devout Leeds United fan who passed away suddenly on his way back from a match in the UK have been announced.
Patrick ‘Gouch’ Kinsella from Arklow, who is aged in his 60s, is believed to have died following a heart attack in Dublin Airport on Sunday on following Leeds’ 2-0 Championship win over Huddersfield the day before.
Mr Kinsella was an accomplished musician was a former member of the band Demolition during the 1970s.
Local football club Arklow Town FC paid tribute to the active member describing him as a “shining light”.
“Today, our club and our community has lost a shining light. Pat was a lifelong member of Arklow Town Football Club,” a spokesperson for Arklow Town FC said.
“He managed numerous teams from schoolboys to Senior. Pat was a talented musician and an even better storyteller. Anyone who ever had the pleasure to meet ‘Gouch’ came away a little wiser and a lot happier. Rest in Peace Pat. You will be sadly missed.”
His funeral details are as follows:

Reposing at Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Arklow from 1pm until 8pm on Wednesday. Removal on Thursday morning at 9.30 to St.’s Mary & Peter’s Church arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 o’clock. Burial afterwards in St. Gabriel’s cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Sunbeam Services, collection boxes provided.
