Future stars: Corin and Eoin pick up top award at science competition

Two pupils from Wicklow have picked up a special award at the Intel Mini Scientist Grand Final recently.

Corin O’Leary and Eoin Walsh from St Mary’s & St Gerard’s National Schoool, Enniskerry were given the Most Innovative Idea for their project Farming of the Future.

Students from across the country  gathered at Maynooth University to take part part in the final which  was the culmination of a nationwide competition which has been running since September.

The Intel Mini Scientist, which is now in its 13th year, gives primary school students from 4th, 5th and 6th class, the chance to explore science through project based learning and exhibitions.
