Gardai arrest east coast crime boss after two-hour car chase drama
Gardai made a huge arrest in the battle against drugs in Wicklow and the east coast after they nabbed a notorious crime boss and four associates following a dramatic two-hour car chase across Dublin.
The criminal known as Mr Flashy was finally stopped in at Abbotstown Avenue, Finglas after leading more than 20 Garda cars on a high-speed chase.
The drama unfolded after the crime boss and his associates failed to stop at a Garda checkpoint at Cardiffsbridge in Finglas at around 9pm last night.
Gardai gave chase and a two-hour drama ensured during which two Garda vehicles were rammed by the drug dealer’s car.
The 27-year leader of the drugs gang dubbed the ‘Gucchi Gang’ due to their affection for designer gear was arrested along with another man in his 30s, the driver of the car, who is also well known to gardai and has more than 100 convictions.
Three men in the back seat, one teenager and two men in their 20’s were also arrested.
The driver of the car has been charged and will appear in court this morning.
The other four men, including Mr Flashy, have been released and files are prepared for the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
