Gardai threaten to tow away cars blocking access on Wicklow’s uplands
Illegal parking remains a problem at some of Wicklow’s most popular beauty and hiking spots.
Local gardai today urged people to park responsibly and to think of others when visiting Wicklow’s uplands.
A local Garda spokesperson said: “The new car parks at Laragh and Luggala are having a great effect in improving accessibility and people’s safety. Unfortunately the area around Glenmacnass is not experiencing a similar positive outcome. Maybe a little towing and some more fixed penalty notices will have the desired effect.
“Please park responsibly and be conscious of the emergency services need to access the uplands when large numbers of people are enjoying the amenities.”
