General Election 2020: After Count 9 Valerie Cox is eliminated as Whitmore surges ahead of Harris
Independent Valerie Cox has been eliminated on the eight count while Social Democrats’ Jennifer Whitmore has surged ahead of Simon Harris.
Cox’s 2,724 votes will now be redistributed as Whitmore reaches 9,422 and Harris hits 9,171.
The Green Party’s Steven Matthews remains fourth on 7,072, Fianna Fail’s Stephen Donnelly is fifth on 5,915, Fine Gael’s Andrew Doyle and Billy Timmins on 5,358 and 5,160 respectively, then Fianna Fail’s Pat Casey on 4,936.
Then comes Joe Behan (4,560) and John Snell (4,352).
