Green light for 11 new houses and four shops in Newcastle

Plans for a mixed-use residential and commercial development on a vacant site in the centre of a county Wicklow town have been lodged with the local authority.

John Murphy Forall Property Holdings Unlimited Company have requested permission to build 11 residential units and four commercial units off the junction of Leamore Lane and Main Street of Newcastle, county Wicklow.

As part of the plans the developer hopes to construct four two-storey four-bedroom semi-detached homes, a  one-bedroom ground floor apartment, a two-storey, two-bedroom duplex apartment, two one-bedroom apartments at first floor level and three two-bedroom apartments at first floor level apartments.

At ground floor level the developers hope to build four commercial units.

Plans for the site include car parking facilities, pedestrian access from the village main street and vehicle and pedestrian access from the Leabeg Road.

A decision is due by the council in early March.
