Green light for development of 18 new apartments in Bray
A new development of 18 apartments in a prominent area of a county Wicklow town have been given the green light by Wicklow County Council.
Duo Build Limited sought permission to redevelop the Old Printworks Site at St Laurence’s Terrace in Bray, in keeping with the council’s in-fill housing development plans.
Last week Duo Build Limited found out their proposal for the construction of a three-storey apartment building, at the junction of the Lower Dargle Road, St Laurence’s Terrace and Adelaide Villa’s, has been approved.
There had been two previous applications for planning permission on this site, the first sought permission for 11 apartments but was refused in 2017, the second application for ten apartments was granted permission in 2018, but the permission was never taken up.
The plans approved by Wicklow council will see a development comprising of four one-bedroom apartments, 13 two-bedroom apartments and one three-bedroom apartment.
A new boundary walls, 18 car parking spaces, six bicycle spaces, a new vehicular entrance at St Laurence’s Terrace have all been approved as part of the plans.
The new apartments will be built on a 0.1637 hectares site and to make way for the new building, Duo Build Limited will have to demolish a number of existing industrial buildings, structures, and the existing boundary walls along St Laurence’s Terrace and Adelaide Villas and adjoining property.
