Greystones resident Sinéad takes a cha-cha twist on her old big hit
Greystones resident Sinéad O’Carroll was the first to the take to the dancefloor on last night’s episode of Dancing With The Stars – and the singer impressed the audience with an energetic cha-cha to her band’s debut hit single, C’est la Vie.
On this week’s show the celebrities danced to a song which reminds them of a memorable year of their lives as they recalled the personal stories behind their choice.
Sinéad picked 1998, the year C’est la Vie went straight in at number one in the UK and Irish charts, catapulting her band B*Witched to fame.
Speaking after her latest performance on the show, which is filmed in Ardmore Studios in Bray, Sinéad said: “It was really weird!” dancing to her own hit, but “never to a cha-cha. It was completely different.”
She 19 points from the judges, but the judges’ reaction was mixed.
A disappointed Loraine Barry said: “It wasn’t enough for me.”
Julian Benson was more favourable, rounding off his remarks with “well done”.
