‘I can’t believe that it was being used for drugs’ – residents shocked after cannabis grow house discovered in Bray estate
Residents in Bray’s Charnwood have reacted with shock after a cannabis grow house was discovered in the estate yesterday following a fire.
“I can’t believe that it was being used for drugs,” one neighbour told WicklowNow.ie. “It was rented out for several years to nurses but had appeared to be idle for the last while.
“There’s never been a drug or crime problem in the estate so I’m shocked this has happened.”
Fire services were called to the fire in the empty house in Charnwood near to the laneway leading to the Churchlands estate and Christ Church.
Charnwood Estate is located off the Vevay Road behind Tesco.
A man arrested at the scene was brought to Bray Garda Station but was later released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Garda estimate that approximately €15,000 worth of cannabis plants and equipment was discovered after the fire was put out.
