La Touche developers seek permission to build 10 apartments instead of five houses on site of iconic Wicklow hotel
The developers of the La Touche Hotel are seeking planning permission to replace five proposed four-bedroom homes with 10 apartments instead.
The iconic La Touche Hotel on Marine Terrace in Greystones is undergoing a full revamp which, under the initial plans, would have seen 26 new homes created, 23 four-bedroom homes and three three-bedroom homes.
Now the developers, Crimson Lane Limited, have gone back to Wicklow County council seeking to remove five of the four-bedroom homes looking to replace them with 10 apartments in a construction that would retain the remaining external walls of the old hotel.
The new plans are calling for the building of four two-bedroom apartments and six three-bedroom apartments in the idyllic location with uninterrupted views of Greystones harbour.
As part of the new proposals, the developers are looking to reorganisation and reallocate the permitted 57 parking spaces within the former hotel site.
Submissions on the revised plans are being accepted by Wicklow County Council until April 2, and a decision is expected by the end of next month.
