Music to their ears: Local broadcaster East Coast FM rules the airwaves in Wicklow as 57,000 tune in
Local station East Coast FM is celebrating after after new figures confirmed its remains the top choice for Wicklow people with 57,000 listening every week.
The broadcaster continues to increase its daily reach and market share, according to the latest JNLR (Joint National Listenership Research) results from Ipsos/MRBI for the period January-December 2019.
The latest numbers released by JNLR show Irish radio stations hold a massive 85% share of the “listened to” audio market in the country.
This compares with 7.8% of those who listen to their own music, 5.6% using Spotify and 1.1% listening to Podcasts.
“The figures also show that East Coast FM continues its growth in the county, with 57,000 tuning in each week,” a statement on East Coast FM said.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for listening!”
According to the JNLR figures, 3.1 million listen to their favourite radio station for over four hours every day.
