Office workers told to stay at home over Coronavirus fears
A global recruiting firm with offices in the heart of Ireland’s Silicon Docks has told employees to stay away from their offices and work from home until next week following the revelation a member of staff may have been exposed to Coronavirus.
Indeed.com this morning announced one of its workers in Singapore “may have been exposed to coronavirus” because some of their family visited a facility in Asia that is trying to contain coronavirus.
In recent weeks, staff from the Dublin office and Sydney office in Australia were in the Singapore office, so the decision has been made to request people in both Dublin and Sydney work from home.
In a statement released by the company this morning, a spokesperson said: “While there are no confirmed cases of infection, out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our employees, we have asked all employees in Singapore, along with anyone who has recently visited our Singapore offices, to work from home until February 17.
“Since some employees who visited Singapore have recently visited our Sydney and Dublin offices, we are asking all employees in the Dublin and Sydney offices to work from home until we have received confirmation.
“Business continues uninterrupted across the globe”, the statement concluded.
