Plans unveiled for 99 new homes and a créche outside Wicklow Town
A new development of 99 homes – which will provide housing for more than 450 people – is being planned for Wicklow Town.
Plans have been lodged with Wicklow County Council for the development of 83 houses and 16 apartments, along with a crèche, on the Malton Road at Ballynerrin, on the outskirts of the town.
The developers Lusra Teoranta, a development company with an address on the Maltron Road, are seeking permission to build the new homes on a four-hectare site beside The Meadows estate.
If approved, the plans will see the construction of 53 two-storey three bed semi-detached and terraced homes, 14 two-storey semi-detached four bed homes as well as two two-storey detached homes.
It is also planned to have 12 two-storey, two-bed terraced homes, one five-bed detached house as well as a two-bed bungalow.
Eight two-bed apartments would also be built, along with eight three-bed duplexes above the apartments.
As part of the development, a crèche is also planned as well as 194 car spaces.
Wicklow County Council are accepting submissions until March 9. A decision on the development is due by March 30.
