Powerscourt owners get green light to build new development of family homes beside famed estate
Wicklow County Council has given the go-ahead for a large development of new family homes on land owned by the Powerscourt Estate.
Developer Scalaheen Ltd had initially requested planning permission from the local authority for the 27-home development beside the entrance to the estate and Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Enniskerry in August of last year.
After going back to the developer with a query regarding the local area development plan, the council was happy with the response received and gave Scalaheen Ltd the go-ahead for the development on a 3.89 hectare site right beside Powerscourt National School.
The development will see the construction on 27 detached dwelling, consisting of one single-storey 2 bed house, three single-storey, three bed homes, seven two-storey, three bed houses, 11 two-storey, four-bed homes, and five two- storey, five bed houses.
Scalaheen Ltd lists as some of its directors’ members of the Slazenger Family who have had a long association with the Powerscourt Estate and the Enniskerry area.
