A Tipperary general election candidiate was found dead at her home in Thurles earlier today.
Independent candidate Marese Skehan was due to taker part in an open meeting with fellow candidates in the town this evening.
No further details of Ms Skehan’s passing have been released yet.

The election of candidates will not proceed in the Tipperary constituency this Saturday with a vote now due to take place at a later date as nominations will have to be reopened under legislation dating from 1992.
This will delay the vote by at least a week or possibly longer and means that the make up of the 33rd Dáil will not be known next week.
