Summer’s cancelled … no gatherings or festivals of more than 5,000 people in Wicklow before September – report
All festivals and mass gathering in Wicklow are to be ruled out until the end of August or early September, according to a report.
The new plans, set to be announced by the Government due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, will see events of 5000 people or more postponed or cancelled.
This will see Bray’s Air Display, the largest free outdoor event in the country postponed, if not cancelled.
It is understood the decision was taken by Ministers at a Cabinet meeting this morning and means that major sports fixtures, concerts and other events will have to be rearranged, the Irish Times is reporting.
