The hard work finally pays off: Official opening of Wicklow Hospice to take place this Friday
The official opening of Wicklow Hospice, the first dedicated specialist palliative care facility in the county, will take place this Friday, January 24.
Wicklow Hospice will provide 15 in-patient public beds and Specialist Community Palliative Care for those with life-limiting conditions.
The facility at Magheramore has been developed as a result of the work undertaken by the Wicklow Fundraising Foundation over the last 10 years, with the 3.5-acre site kindly donated by the Columban sisters.
Now under the management and governance of Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services (OLH&CS), Wicklow Hospice joins the largest provider of specialist palliative care in Ireland, which comprises a 200-bed facility in Harold’s Cross and a 12-bed facility at Blackrock in Dublin.
Minister for Health Simon Harris TD will conduct the official opening.
