‘They can’t say we didn’t warn them’ – gardai tow cars left abandoned at Wicklow beauty spots
Motorists who left their cars abandoned or parked illegally at popular Wicklow beauty spots today had their vehicles towed or were hit with fines.
It comes after gardai earlier warned they would tow away vehicles after they experienced major traffic problems at the entrances to Glendalough yesterday.
A local Garda spokesperson said this evening: “They can’t say we didn’t warn them. The tow wagons are in operation in the uplands today to address the abandoning of vehicles all over the roads creating hazards and restricting access for the emergency services. Vehicles obstructing will be towed and illegal parking will be ticketed.”
Gardai also urged members of the public to “please maintain social distancing” while enjoying the Wicklow uplands.
