Three further lives lost as US and Britain set to be excluded from travel green list
There were three deaths further from Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland in the last 24 hours, the HSE said this evening.
The total death toll here is now 1,752 while the number of confirmed cases has now reached 25,730 after another 34 were diagnosed.
Meanwhile, Simon Coveney, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, has said that the United States will be excluded from the ‘Green List’ of safe-travel countries due to be published on Monday, while Britain is unlikely to make the list.
Mr Coveney added that the list of countries will “not be particularly long” and that the list was not drawn up based on politics, but on the “epidemiological data and numbers”.
He told Newstalk’s Pat Kenny Show that countries which are included in the list “represent no higher risk than Ireland represents”.
