WEEKEND WEATHER: Sizzle in the sun – Wicklow set to enjoy hottest day of the year tomorrow
It couldn’t have come at a better time!
Just as the country enjoys a relaxation of the Covid-19 restrictions, Wicklow is set to enjoy the hottest day of the year so far tomorrow.
Met Éireann said temperatures will soar by up to a sizzling 22 degrees on Saturday. But things will cool dramatically just a day later, with temperatures dipping back down to just 13 degrees on Sunday.
Today will be a bright and sunny day, with highest temperatures of between 17 to 20 degrees. The national forecaster warned scattered showers will develop throughout the day, though most of these will be in the north and north west.
While tomorrow looks set to be a scorcher, a very different story is forecast for Sunday.
Met Éireann said: “Cold and breezy, but mainly dry, with sunny spells developing. One or two isolated light showers are possible, especially in the northeast. Highest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees Celsius, coldest in the north and east, in mostly moderate northeast winds, fresh to strong on exposed coasts.”
Early indications suggest we will continue to enjoy mostly bright and settled conditions into next week.
The national forecaster predicted: “Current indications are for a mainly dry, settled spell of weather. Cold at first, with maximum temperatures of only 10 to 13 degrees Celsius on Monday and with a risk of some frost on Monday night, but temperatures will be closer to normal, or a little below from Tuesday to Thursday, with maximum values of 12 to 15 degrees.”
