Wicklow sporting facilities on track to jump €1m funding hurdle
Over €1 million in funding has been allocated to two local sporting facilities.
A total of €1,173,819 will be provided to the Wicklow Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre and Charlesland Athletics track through the Government’s Community Services Programme (CSP).
Fine Gael Wicklow General Election candidate Billy Timmins welcomed the funding.
“I am delighted to confirm that €1,173, 819 in funding has been allocated to Wickllow Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre and Charlesland Athletics track in Greystones through the Community Services Programme,” he said.
“The CSP supports community-based organisations to provide vital local services through a social enterprise model, providing a contribution towards the cost of employing staff in CSP supported organisations. It typically supports organisations to meet local service gaps and provide access to services and facilities that would otherwise generally be unavailable. Almost €47 million will be provided under the Programme in 2020.”
