WICKLOW WEATHER: Rays of hope as country begins to emerge from lockdown

Wicklow will be mostly sunny this week as the country embarks on the first phase of lifting of travel and shopping restrictions.

Met Éireann said today will be mostly cloudy and rather misty in places to begin, especially in south Leinster and Munster, with patchy light rain and drizzle and top temperatures of between 15 to 19 degrees.

The national forecaster said: “The rain and drizzle will become largely confined to the north and west as the day goes on, with brighter and drier intervals developing further south and east.”

But more favourable conditions are forecast for the next few days. Met Éireann said tomorrow will begin cloudy, but it will become mostly dry during the day with bright and sunny spells developing, particularly in the east.

Wednesday will begin in the same vein with dry and sunny conditions, but rain will extend eastward across the country.

Thursday is also set to be a dry day with good sunny spells in most areas and temperature highs of between 17 to 20 degrees.

However, Met Éireann warned early indications suggest the rest of the week and next weekend will have “changeable and unsettled weather” with temperatures cooling off.
