WICKLOW WEATHER: Summer’s back, but not with a bang
After a largely unsettled weekend, Summer will return to Wicklow this week with temperatures set to return to as high as 20 degrees on Tuesday.
The past few days have been rather bleak after we enjoyed the best weather spell of the year, with far milder conditions, cloudy skies, rain and strong winds in some parts.
However, Met Éireann predicted the good weather will return this week, with temperatures potentially reaching to the low 20s on Friday and Saturday.
The national forecaster said today will be bright and mainly dry with sunny spells, with highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees in Munster and Leinster.
Tomorrow will also be dry and bright in many areas, with maybe the odd shower, and afternoon temperatures of up to 19 or 20 degrees
Wednesday, by comparison, is set to be rather cloudy and cool with some patchy rain in places. There will also be heavy possibly thundery showers, especially in northern and eastern counties later in the day and temperature highs of between 13 to 17 degrees Celsius.
Thursday will also be relatively cool, with further showers in eastern and southern areas but also some good dry bright periods with some sunny spells in places, and highest temperatures ranging between 15 to 18 degrees.
Latest indications suggest it will become milder during Friday and Saturday.
Met Éireann added: “Mostly east to northeast breezes and afternoon highs in the high teens or possibly low twenties in parts of the northwest but cooler near eastern coasts. There will be some showery rain in eastern counties at times.”
