Word up! Second literature festival to take place in local libraries and theatres
The second Way With Words for readers and writers will take place in Arklow and Blessington Libraries between February 29 and March 14.
Wicklow County Council launched the festival on February 21 by announcing an exciting line up of authors, illustrators and music for adults, children and families including top Chef Catherine Fulvio, Pat McCabe in conversation with Dermott Bolger, Sunday Miscellany Celebrating 50 years with Catríona Ní Anluaín, Colm Keegan Poet, Karl Henry Fitness Expert and children’s author Sarah Webb.
The year’s event takes place in the two libraries but also in the Whale Theatre in Greystones, Mermaid Arts Centre Bray, Baltinglass Hospital and local schools.
The event will cater for approximately 2,000 audience members over the two-week period and will be funded through the Creative Ireland Programme with investment from Wicklow County Council.
Arts Officer Jenny Sherwin commented that it is an extraordinary opportunity for Wicklow County Council’s cultural services “to extend our programmes and reach into communities in an unprecedented way”.
The programme in Libraries is completely free with workshops, talks and events during the daytime and in the evening time. Small ticket charges apply to our partner events.
